Day 2: Panama city
Your guide and your driver will come and pick you up at your hotel to take you for a trek in the Metropolitan National Park. Located only 15 minutes away from the Panamanian capital, it hosts the most accessible rainforest of the country. You will get to observe some sloths and numerous birds among the 200 species listed there.
Then, head to the must-see Panama Canal to observe the relentless ship traffic from the Miraflores Locks.
Have lunch at the seafood market where lobsters, tunas, and other appetizing food coming from the Caribbean and the Pacific are sold, before wandering around the famous old colonial neighborhood, Casco Antiguo. You will plunge into the country's historic past by strolling down the typical streets bordered with multicolored buildings leading down to the Plaza de Francia.
Discover the Art-Deco architecture and visit the cathedral and the Panama Canal Museum.
In late afternoon, transfer to your hotel.

Day 3: Panama city - Gamboa - Amador
Private transfer from Panama City to Gamboa.
In the morning, meeting point at the small port of Gamboa, more precisely at the "muelle de la rampa", starting point of a day in the heart of the Panama Canal and the Gatun Lake (which largely feeds the river). Along you journey, you will get to explore the lush nature, tropical fauna and flora, and will observe many animals (toucans, crocodiles, monkeys, sloths...). You will navigate with container ships and other transient embarkations and enjoy an exceptional view over one of the world's most complex piece of technology.
Free time for swimming, fishing, or kayaking in this spectacular environment.
Return to the hotel.

Day 4: Panama city - Meteti
In the morning, leave aboard a four-wheel drive to the Darien province. At the small pier of Santa Fé, you will be met by the Wounaan Indians. You will reach their community with a dugout canoe. After exploring the surroundings, you will leave to visit the village aboard your dugout with your local guide.
In late afternoon, you will have the chance to assist to typical dances. Women will present their crafts (among the best in the country), the principal source of income of this community.
In the evening, ride to Metetí and installation in the lodge built on a hill along the Filo del Tallo Natural Reserve.

Day 5: Meteti
In the morning, transfer to Puerto Quimba, where you will embark on a motorised boat and navigate among the mangroves.
You will discover the ecosystem of the Gulf of San Miguel and its many varieties of birds, among which the pelican, the ibis, the heron, the frigate bird, and the kingfisher. You will also have the opportunity to visit Spanish forts from the 17th century and, if you're lucky, you may even see dolphins.
Lunch in La Palma, the capital of Darien Province, located at the mouth of the Tuira River.
Have a swim at the wild and deserted beaches of the gulf.
In late afternoon, return to your hotel.

Day 6: Meteti
In the morning, departure from Metetí for a kayak expedition on the Chucunaque River.
This river, one of the biggest in Panama, will deliver some of its secrets, at the pace of your journey, under the watchful eyes of the crocodiles. It's on this mythical river that the explorers Reclus and Wise spent weeks looking for a possible route for the Panama Canal in the 1880s.
Dinner and night at the Filo del Tallo Lodge.

Day 7: Meteti - Panama city - Amador
In the morning, the trek starts from the Lodge. Get ready to explore the local fauna and flora, in the heart of a hydrological reserve.
After lunch, journey back to Panama City.

Day 8: Panama city - Carti - Isla Kuanidup
Early in the morning, departure in four-wheel drive vehicle for the San Blas Islands in the Caribbean Sea, before taking a boat to the lodge.

Day 9: Isla Kuanidup
It is a day of relaxation that awaits you in order to let you enjoy this trip at the end of the world at your convenience.
You will have the choice between several options, all equally tempting: lying on the white-sand beaches or in a hammock, going away for a few hours on a desert islet, going to meet the Kuna Indians and sharing smiles with the children during the visit of a comarca, tasting a crayfish or a fresh-caught giant crab (depending on the season), exploring the seabed snorkeling, getting introduced to the Mola art, or even navigating among mangroves and other tropical plants.
Night at the San Blas Islands Kuanidup Lodge **.

Day 10: Carti - Panama city - Albrook Airport - Tocumen Airport
Early in the morning, departure from the lodge in direction of the port of Carti.
